Laser anxiety. I have a big vision defect, laser vision correction will be very expensive in my case

This is one of the more basic “laser fears” – That a large visual defect will raise the cost of the procedure. Price happens to be the first of the elements people consider when thinking about laser eye surgery, and then looking for a specific clinic where it can be performed.

The price of the procedure does not depend on the size of the defect, but on the method by which it is performed.

Because refractive surgery is developing rapidly and dynamically; that more new, even more precise technological solutions are constantly being developed, the prices of procedures can vary greatly. But for each method, the price of the procedure is fixed and does not change depending on whether the visual defect is larger or smaller.

In turn, the choice of surgical method depends on several factors: the specific nature of the visual defect, the anatomical conditions of the eye, the patient’s general health and his expectations for visual acuity after treatment. Thus, there is no simple relationship in refractive surgery: the more expensive the procedure, the better for the patient.

There is another: the more individually selected the surgical method, the better the therapeutic results. Therefore, in each case, the decision on laser vision correction is preceded by very precise examinations, which allow unambiguous and definitive qualification for the procedure – you can read more about it here.
