Cataract surgery + premium implants
A cataract is a clouding of the lens that, if left untreated, leads to vision impairments that hinder daily functioning and often results in complete loss of vision.
Premium implants enable vision without glasses for both far and near distances. Individual implant fitting, discussion of the procedure, and vision based on specific calculations will be discussed during the qualification examination.
The World Health Organization lists unoperated cataracts as the cause of 35% of all cases of reversible blindness worldwide. Until recently, only mature cataracts were operated on; currently, ophthalmologists maintain that cataract surgery is indicated even in the early stage, provided the vision impairment is significant enough to hinder daily functioning.

Installments – how it works
We fill out the application together at the clinic; Santander Consumer Bank’s decision usually arrives within a dozen minutes, and often an income statement is sufficient. You choose the number of installments yourself; for both eyes in one session, installments cover the total, for separate appointments, you finance the second eye before its procedure.

Why are prices quoted per eye?
Because we select the implant for each eye separately, and eyes can be operated on at separate times, upon request. As standard, we operate on both eyes during one session; you pay exactly for the procedure performed.
Which lenses do you implant at this price?
At the single premium implant price we select lenses from the latest generations by Johnson & Johnson (TECNIS Odyssey, PureSee, Eyhance), Bausch + Lomb (LuxSmart, enVista Envy, LuxLife, enVista Aspire), Alcon (Vivity, PanOptix Pro), Rayner (RayOne EMV), and Teleon – the model depends on biometry and lifestyle.
Does public healthcare cover the procedure and can I pay in installments?
Procedures at SwissLaser are not covered by public healthcare. We offer installment payment through Santander Consumer Bank – you can calculate the installment during the qualification visit (400 zł).
How much does cataract surgery cost for one eye?
11,000 PLN with a premium implant of any type. As standard, we operate on both eyes during one session, a pair of eyes costs 22,000 PLN. Upon request, we operate on them separately – in which case each eye is billed at the time of its procedure.
How much does laser cataract surgery cost?
At SwissLaser we remove cataracts by ultrasonic phacoemulsification through a 2 mm incision – the global standard, colloquially called “laser.” We do not offer femtosecond laser-assisted surgery (FLACS) as standard, because large randomized studies (FACT, FEMCAT) showed no better outcomes at markedly higher costs. Procedure price: 11,000 zł per eye.
Can I pay extra for a premium lens under public healthcare?
No. The publicly funded procedure includes only a monofocal lens and does not allow upgrades to a premium implant. A toric, EDOF, or multifocal lens requires a private procedure – at our clinic priced at 11,000 zł per eye, with no surcharge for implant type.
How much does a multifocal lens for cataract cost?
At SwissLaser there is no separate lens price: a trifocal, EDOF, toric, or Customized implant is included in the 11,000 zł per eye. We select the model based on biometry and lifestyle discussion, not price.
Does the price include the qualification examination?
No. The qualification examination with biometry and lens selection costs 400 zł, takes approximately 90 minutes, and is billed separately. The procedure price includes the implant, surgery under topical anesthesia, and two follow-up visits in the first month.
