OptiLIGHT

OptiLIGHT technology, utilizing Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), is widely recognized as a safe and non-invasive method for treating Dry Eye Syndrome caused by Meibomian gland dysfunction. The procedure is performed at our Warsaw facility.

CAIRS is a revolution in keratoconus treatment, based on the logic of nature. Instead of artificial, plastic implants, we use precisely shaped segments made from pure, natural collagen. These biological implants, free of donor cells, integrate with your cornea, becoming a part of it. They act as an internal scaffold – strengthening the weakened structure, flattening the cone, and restoring a more natural, stable shape to the cornea.

The OptiLIGHT device has been designed with the comfort of both patients and operators in mind. Ergonomic handpieces and adjustable settings allow the device to be adapted to the individual curvature and contour of the face. OptiLIGHT is equipped with safety systems that protect the patient’s eyes from possible side effects. Special protective eyewear used during the procedure and cooling gel applied to the skin minimize discomfort and protect tissue.

Preparation for the procedure

The procedure begins with patient preparation, where the patient sits in the treatment chair and puts on protective eyewear. The eyelids are then thoroughly cleaned to remove impurities such as dirt, dandruff, or makeup residue.

Application of protective gel

The next step is to apply a special cooling gel to the skin. This serves a protective function and increases patient comfort during the procedure.

Procedure course

During the procedure, a special IPL handpiece emits short, intense flashes of light. The light penetrates the tissues, reduces inflammation, dissolves compacted secretions from the Meibomian glands, and reduces the number of bacteria and mites on the eyelid margins.

Duration and number of treatments

A single session lasts approximately 15 minutes. For optimal results, a series of 3–4 treatments is usually performed at intervals of 2–3 weeks.

Sensations after the procedure

During the procedure, the patient experiences only minor discomfort. Most people can immediately return to their daily activities, as no recovery period is required.

Possible side effects

Side effects are rare, but temporary redness, slight swelling, pain, or dry skin may occur. In very rare cases, pigment changes, scars, or burns may occur, which is why the procedure should be performed by an experienced specialist.

OptiLIGHT technology utilizing IPL is recognized as a safe and non-invasive method for treating dry eye syndrome associated with Meibomian gland dysfunction. It has been approved by the FDA, confirming its effectiveness and safety.
OptiLIGHT is an excellent option for individuals seeking an effective method for treating DES; however, like any medical procedure, it requires informed consent after the patient has been properly informed of all aspects of the treatment, including potential risks.
