Can I come with a companion for laser eye surgery?
The presence of a loved one is always supportive for a person undergoing testing for laser vision correction. However, during the procedure, your companion will be asked to go to the waiting room.
Why? This is due to the fact that the operating room is a place accessible only to medical personnel. This is to ensure sterile conditions for the procedure.
We always emphasize that it is a good idea to come to laser vision correction surgery with a loved one, as you should not sit behind the wheel after the operation. It is equally inadvisable to return home by public transportation due to the possibility of infection.
In the first few days after surgery, you should avoid contact with people suffering from infections such as cold, flu, or infectious diseases. The eye after surgery, like any other organ of our body in a similar situation, requires complete healing under the safest possible conditions. So always make sure that a family member or friend is not a threat to you!
Of course, you can come to any follow-up, post-operative visit accompanied.
NOTE: All of the above rules apply under normal conditions.
It is possible, therefore, that in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, Swisslaser is operating under a sanitary regime and, due to the strictures, only unaccompanied patients are allowed in the clinic.
