The E-EYE medical device is designed specifically to treat Dry Eye Syndrome, which is caused by Meibom’s gland dysfunction. E-EYE generates multicolor polychromatic pulsed light using new IRPL® (Intense Regulated Pulsed Light) technology.
This technology allows to produce a sequence of uniform and calibrated light pulses, emits the so-called “light”. Cold light, which stimulates Meibom’s glands in a completely safe way. In response to stimulation, there is a resumption of the secretion of polar lipids and non-polar fats, resulting in the restoration of normal tear film structure and a gradual resolution of the symptoms of SSO. In other words: E-EYE stimulates the tear glands to work. The procedure is non-invasive, painless and completely harmless to the eyeball.
During the E-EYE procedure, which takes a few minutes, the patient is placed in a treatment chair and his eyes are shielded with a special EYE MASK protection. A special hydrogel is spread on the cheeks and temple area. The doctor applies a series of five flashes for each eye, starting at the inner corner of the eye and ending at the temple area. Finally, the gel is removed and the skin is washed with water.

The E-EYE is ready to use in seconds: it requires no preheating or maintenance other than cleaning the head. E-Eye has a built-in integrated system that enables a step-by-step validation process to enhance safety. The device has a color touchscreen where you can easily set parameters. Importantly, the E-EYE device is equipped with a smart card that limits the number of flashes performed. This means that one card and one lamp can perform 500 flashes, or serve 50 patients.
