At the point of greatest attrition, under the pressure of the eye, the cornea is uplifted to form just a cone .

The first symptoms of this insidious and often undercover eye disease include:

progressive deterioration of vision,

blurring of the image,

hypersensitivity to light,

Burning and redness of the eyes.

These symptoms are so non-specific that they are easily trivialized. However, if you have someone in your family diagnosed with corneal cone, or you notice that your child’s myopia is progressing too quickly in adolescence, he or she is complaining of a halo effect/phenomenon around the light source and blurring of the image, and subsequent changes of glasses are not effective, it is essential to ask your ophthalmologist to diagnose the disease.

As the disease progresses, the patient is affected by further symptoms, among them:

rapidly increasing astigmatism and myopia in one eye

multiple vision

Deterioration of vision after dusk and at night.

Sometimes the first symptom is the so-called acute cone – a sudden blurring of vision and pain in the eye, which can last up to several weeks.

It is worth knowing that in addition to other factors [treatment of corneal cone] to the formation of corneal cone can contribute to such a trivial activity as … rubbing of the eyes associated, for example, with poorly selected and cared for contact lenses. Systematic and prolonged rubbing of the eyelids can result in corneal collagen damage.

On the other hand, if we have a habit of rubbing our eyes, we should make sure that it is not related to an already developing corneal cone – in other words: let’s answer the question about under what circumstances we rub our eyes. Is it so that it is not when there is something wrong in one eye? We can’t catch focus, the eye keeps burning… It is all the monocular symptoms that can be the first signs of corneal cone

The most common and specific monocular symptoms are halo, glare and starbust disturbances and afterimages, or so-called ghost images .

Corneal cone is a progressive eye disease that leads to abrasion and distortion of the cornea, with subsequent deterioration of vision – myopia and astigmatism and often hypersensitivity to light.

[7

post-8395","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-eye-diseases
["GET
