What is Laser Eye Correction?<\/h2>\n\n

The cornea is the transparent front part of the eye \u2013 a natural lens with a power of approximately 43 diopters. It refracts light before it reaches the retina. In cases of myopia, the image forms in front of the retina; in hyperopia, behind it. Glasses and contact lenses compensate for this error externally. <\/p>\n\n

The laser changes the shape of the cornea itself \u2013 it removes microscopic layers of tissue where its curvature needs to be decreased or increased. The amount of tissue removed is measured in micrometers, and the profile is calculated individually based on measurements of the entire eye, not just the values from glasses. <\/p>\n\n
