Kluczborska 15\/U3. <a href=\"https:\/\/swisslaser.pl\/en\/pricing\/\">Price list <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When the ICL is the better choice than laser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laser correction works by removing corneal tissue. That requires a cornea of sufficient thickness and regular shape. Where that condition is not met, or the refractive error is too high, the method reaches a physical limit rather than a technical one.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"sl-proof-line has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">SwissLaser in numbers: around 1,500 phakic lens implantations, over 25,000 refractive procedures by the lead surgeon and ICL implanted in three countries: Poland, Austria and Switzerland \u00b7 assessment with MS-39 tomography and Anterion biometry \u00b7 the same surgeon and the same price in Warsaw and Krak\u00f3w.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thin cornea.<\/strong>The ICL removes no tissue and is therefore independent of corneal thickness.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Very high refractive error.<\/strong>Up to \u221220 D and +10 D \u2013 a range no laser correction covers safely.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Tendency to dry eye.<\/strong>The corneal nerves that drive tear production are largely left intact.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>A wish for reversibility.<\/strong>Laser correction changes the cornea permanently; the ICL can be removed. Compare: <a href=\"https:\/\/swisslaser.pl\/en\/laser-vision-correction\/\">laser vision correction<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safety begins with measurement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most important safety factor is lens size. A defined gap must remain between the ICL and the eye&#8217;s own lens \u2013 the vault. Too small, and the risk of lens opacification rises; too large, and intraocular pressure may increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We therefore model the eye in three dimensions before surgery. Second-generation MS-39 tomography measures the anterior chamber, and we count the corneal endothelial cells. That layer keeps the cornea clear, does not regenerate, and is therefore a criterion for exclusion rather than a formality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Am I suitable for the ICL?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"nv-cv-m wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Green light:<\/strong> age 21\u201345, refractive error stable for at least a year, sufficiently deep anterior chamber, normal endothelial cell count.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Amber \u2013 requires assessment:<\/strong> history of glaucoma, previous eye surgery, a very shallow anterior chamber, early changes in the natural lens.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Red light:<\/strong> active intraocular inflammation, significantly reduced endothelial cell count, unstable refractive error.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From around the age of 50, <a href=\"https:\/\/swisslaser.pl\/en\/refractive-lens-exchange-krakow\/\">refractive lens exchange in Krak\u00f3w<\/a> is usually the more sensible option, because it resolves presbyopia and future cataract at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the procedure works in Krak\u00f3w<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"nv-cv-m wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1. Suitability assessment:<\/strong> about 90 minutes (400 z\u0142) \u2013 tomography, biometry, endothelial cell count and lens sizing.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>2. Surgery \u2013 10 to 20 minutes per eye:<\/strong> under topical anaesthesia, through an incision of about 3 mm, without sutures. Day-case.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>3. Follow-up:<\/strong> the first check the day after surgery, two more in the first month \u2013 included in the package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the assessment we ask for a contact lens break: soft lenses at least seven days, rigid lenses at least four weeks. Otherwise the lens reshapes the cornea and distorts the measurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EVO ICL and the earlier generations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Older phakic lenses required an iridotomy \u2013 an additional laser procedure in the iris to secure the flow of aqueous humour. It was a separate appointment carrying its own risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"nv-cv-d nv-cv-m wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Central AquaPort opening.<\/strong>The EVO lens has an opening at its centre through which aqueous humour circulates naturally. The iridotomy is no longer needed.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Sizing on a 3D model.<\/strong>MS-39 tomography makes it possible to simulate the lens position before surgery (vault prediction).<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Endothelial assessment before approval.<\/strong>No surgery without a known cell count. Astigmatism correction carries no surcharge.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Suitability assessment: 400 z\u0142.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n<li>Included: surgery, the EVO\/EVO+ lens and the first month&#8217;s follow-up.<\/li>\n\n<li>Instalments available (Santander Consumer Bank).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Risks \u2013 stated plainly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Implanting a phakic lens is an intraocular procedure and the risk cannot be reduced to zero. The complications described are principally: an incorrect vault requiring lens exchange, a rise in intraocular pressure in the early period, gradual loss of endothelial cells and \u2013 rarely \u2013 cataract formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of these depend substantially on the quality of the pre-operative assessment. That is why we do not shorten the diagnostics, even though they take time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For patients from abroad and from Silesia<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The clinic at ul.
