Every eye is unique, like a genetic fingerprint. The LASIK Wavefront method is a patient-tailored treatment for so-called optical aberrations, which include non-chromatic and complex vision defects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This method is particularly useful for vision that requires improvement in unfavorable lighting conditions, such as at night. To achieve optimal visual acuity, even minor optical deformations must be corrected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Procedure Course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the first phase, we measure the eye with an aberrometer to determine its individual topography and vision defects. Based on the data obtained, we calculate how the cornea should be corrected with a laser. The wavefront measurement thus serves as a template for the corneal ablation profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While an eye tracker monitors the eye and compensates for even the slightest movements, the excimer laser removes cell layers with the highest precision. The use of individualized methods improves the quality of vision and can even enhance eyesight beyond the results achieved with glasses or contact lenses! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To protect the eyes from external environmental factors, patients are fitted with highly oxygen-permeable contact lenses, which the doctor removes the following day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Important Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If parallel light rays enter the eye, ideally\u2014i.e., without aberrations\u2014they are focused precisely at a single point. In an emmetropic eye, this point is located within the retina. However, this rarely happens: wavefronts deviate from the ideal shape after passing through the cornea and lens; every eye has individual curvatures and optical distortions. As a result, the image point may be blurred. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such distortions cannot be corrected with glasses or contact lenses, as the correction must be performed directly on the eye. The only solution is correction in refractive corneal surgery using an excimer laser. With LASIK or LASEK methods, higher-order aberrations are corrected with very high precision! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
